Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician, Cirencester

Are you interested in Air & Emissions? We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee to join our UKAS accredited Air & Emissions team. As a Trainee Emissions Monitoring Technician, you’ll support our experts with testing and monitoring building foundations across various projects. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills in a specialised area, progress professionally, and participate in exciting projects across the UK in a hands-on learning environment.

This role offers vital training and real-world experience through our development programmes. We are committed to supporting your early career with guidance and integrity.

The tasks you will undertake include:

  • Monitoring emissions according to documented procedures, standards, and industry best practices
  • Preparing detailed, accurate technical reports for clients
  • Adhering to SOCOTEC’s Health & Safety policies and site rules
  • Performing equipment maintenance, calibration, kit preparation, laboratory duties, and report writing

To be successful, you should demonstrate:

  • A degree or equivalent in an environmental or scientific discipline
  • An interest in developing a career in stack emissions monitoring using manual sampling and analytical techniques
  • A willingness to work outdoors and at heights, often at industrial sites
  • Availability to work away from home during some weekdays
  • A full driving license and a positive, flexible attitude

About Air & Emissions:

Our UKAS accredited team conducts industrial emissions testing across the UK, working on diverse projects in various industries, including incinerators, power stations, and oil refineries. The work involves heights, underground, and offshore environments.
