Job summary

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust in Bradford is offering Trainee EMHP posts across Bradford and Craven District. You will work and study to become an EMHP with supervision from an expanding, fast-growing team.

The role involves delivering interventions in schools, supporting staff to identify mental health issues, and facilitating access to specialist services while documenting progress toward your postgraduate diploma.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification and evidence of ability to study at Level 7.
  • Evidence of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding requirements under the children’s act 2004.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems in education settings.
  • Helping children and young people access more specialist services when needed.
  • Supporting staff in education settings to identify and manage mental health issues.
  • Working within educational environments to improve access to specialist mental health services.
  • Record and evidence progression towards an academic award and practical ability; maintain right-to-work documentation.

Job description

We have Trainee EMHP posts available in Bradford and Craven District- a chance to work and study to be an EMHP with a fast growing team across Bradford. The Green paper set out the ambitions to increase the mental health support for young people within school settings. Bradford currently has a developed team and is expanding., Under supervision and with support, to develop knowledge and practice skills in:

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people,with mild to moderate mental health problems, in education settings.
  • Helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services.
  • Supporting and facilitating staff in education settings to identify, and where appropriate, manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Working with and within educational environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.
  • To evidence development of those skills with associated knowledge acquisition to record and evidence progression towards an academic award and demonstrable practical ability., Prior to your appointment you will be asked to provide confirmation of your right to work and reside in the UK. During your continued employment with the Trust, you have a personal responsibility to notify your manager as soon as possible should there be any changes to your right to work status.

  • Diploma or equivalent appropriate qualification, e.g. foundation degree: or NVQ3 level qualification plus short courses or relevant experience to diploma level - Demonstratable ability to study at Level 7, The postholder will be studying for a postgraduate diploma, evidence of ability to study at level 7 is required.
  • Evidence of working with children and young people who experience common mental health difficulties including anxiety and/or depression.
  • Demonstrates high standards in written communication.
  • Working knowledge of Health, Social and caring services, education and voluntary sector, together with the relevant legislation regarding both children and mental health
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills to safeguard and protect children and young people's welfare in line with the children's act 2004 requirements
  • Able to write clear reports and letter.
  • Ability to manage own caseload and time, Working within a school setting
  • Working within a mental health setting
  • Working with children
  • Working within an organisation with agreed standards and targets in place to demonstrate outcomes.
  • Evidence of working within the local community
