We have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer to join this leading provider of electronic design and assembly services in Widnes, Cheshire.

This covers the complete product lifecycle.

About the role

As a Trainee Electronic Component Engineer, your role involves selecting appropriate components for designs, collaborating with design, engineering, and procurement teams. Responsibilities include:

  • Introduction and maintenance of component records in internal systems
  • Establishing and maintaining technical contacts with manufacturers and suppliers
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to obtain approvals for new and alternative components, verifying regulatory compliance
  • Disseminating critical component information, including new introductions, last-time buys, and obsolescence notifications
  • Assisting with component selection, pricing, and lead time data for design and manufacturing

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in electronics or relevant experience
  • Preferably 2 years of industrial experience in a related role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with Excel and MRP/ERP systems

Hours and rewards

The role offers a salary up to £27,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus:
