Job description

MPI is seeking a Trainee Electrical Project Engineer for our client based in St. Albans.

Contract: Temp to Perm

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 per annum

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours

The company specializes in manufacturing low voltage switchgear. The Trainee Electrical Project Engineer will be based at the company's premises in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.

The ideal candidate should have recently completed a basic electrical course, such as:

  • Electrical Installation
  • C&G NVQ Electrical
  • BTEC Electrical

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, is required. Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus but not mandatory.

Training and support will be provided. The candidate will learn on the job, including time in manufacturing departments and providing administrative support to electrical project engineers.

Key responsibilities, over time, will include:

  • Managing projects from contract receipt to installation and commissioning
  • Handling all technical and commercial aspects of projects
  • Communicating with clients and their representatives
  • Participating in site meetings with clients
  • Collaborating with suppliers to select suitable electrical components
  • Working with draughting engineers and production teams
  • Designing electrical control schematic diagrams
