A leading company in low voltage switchgear manufacturing is seeking a Trainee Electrical Project Engineer in Hertford. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the electrical industry, along with training and support to develop skills while working on various projects. The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in the electrical field and experience using Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Interest in the electrical industry essential.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel required.
  • AutoCAD knowledge is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Controlling projects from receipt of contract to installation and commissioning.
  • Responsibility for commercial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Liaising with clients and suppliers.

TRAINEE ELECTRICAL PROJECT ENGINEER

The Company is a manufacturer of low voltage switchgear. The position of Trainee Electrical Project Engineer would be based at the Company premises located in St. Albans, Hertfordshire.

Interest in the electrical industry is essential to be successful in this role.

The ideal candidate should be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel. The ability to use AutoCAD is desirable but not essential.

Training and support for this position will be provided. The successful candidate will be expected to learn as they develop into the role. This would include spending time in the manufacturing departments and providing administrative support to the electrical project engineers.

Ultimately (in time) the main roles with this position will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Controlling projects from receipt of contract to installation and commissioning.
  • Responsibility for all commercial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Liaise with clients and their representatives.
  • Attend site meetings with clients and their representatives.
  • Liaise with suppliers in ascertaining the suitability of electrical components for particular projects.
  • Liaise with the Company’s draughting engineers and production team.
