Role Details

The hourly rate for this role is £12.60 and up to £14.13 across selected locations within London. The hourly rate will increase after 6 months in role.

No previous experience is required, and full training will be provided.

About the opportunity

As a Trainee Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

While completing your Dispenser training (NVQ2), you will build relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your duties include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing healthcare advice to support patients' health decisions.

This is a role based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered, and applications from outside the UK will only be considered if relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed.

Key responsibilities
  1. Complete your training for the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 programme.
  2. Dispense prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  3. Assist in managing and delivering pharmacy services alongside healthcare professionals.
  4. Provide advice and care to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as needed.
  5. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure legal and safe dispensing.
  6. Stay updated with store innovations and operational processes.
  7. Support patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
  8. Work with new systems and technologies to improve patient safety and efficiency.

You will receive regular training and have opportunities for career development, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or store leader.

Minimum requirements
  1. Desire to learn and complete the NVQ2 Dispenser training.
  2. Current and valid UK right to work. Note: No sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is available.
Preferred experience
  1. Experience in community pharmacy is a plus.
