Offering circa £26,000 - £30,000 basic salary plus great benefits!

Our client is an established manufacturing company currently recruiting a Trainee Design Engineer to drive innovation through the development of new and existing engineering products. This is a full-time, permanent position based onsite at our client's North Yorkshire office.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Trainee Research and Development Engineer, you will be trained to translate technical specifications into designs and products.
• You will apply principles of mechanics, design, material science, and other engineering disciplines to develop new products, improve existing ones, and solve engineering problems.
• You will create innovative and robust mechanical solutions, design components for manufacture, develop test regimes, and document design decisions.
• This role involves conducting research, analyzing data, designing and testing prototypes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• During development, you will document design decisions and data thoroughly.
• You will produce detailed documentation including product design steps, technical test data, R&D documentation, and user manuals.

Candidate Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software, ideally SolidWorks, with an interest in mechanical or electrical design solutions.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with internal and external customers and understand their needs.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills to create detailed technical documentation.

The position offers a salary of £26,000 - £30,000 plus benefits. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, at the North Yorkshire office.
