Job description

This vacancy is for an Apprentice Dental Nurse based in Southport.

As an Apprentice Dental Nurse, you will help the dentist in performing various dental care treatments and procedures.

We are a private practice with no NHS contract. Denplan scheme is available for patients to join.

Our services include general dental treatment, implants, composite bonding, and Invisalign.
We are seeking a motivated trainee dental nurse to join our team.

The duties within this role include:

• Assist the dentist/therapist/hygienist during all clinical procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Cross Infection policies and procedures within the dental surgery.
• Assist the dentist during procedures such as fillings, root canal treatments, crown and bridge work, denture preparations, and extractions.
• Perform assessments, including minor oral surgeries.
• Assist the hygienist with scaling, polishing, oral health promotion, charting, and periodontal assessments.
• Record and store notes, charting, medical history, and radiographs using paper-based or computer systems.
• Perform reception duties, including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and recording details accurately.
• Dispose of waste correctly, including clinical, sharps, amalgam, and domestic waste.
• Assist with patient preparation and equipment setup during x-ray procedures, and process and store images appropriately.

Training to be provided:

• Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing.
• Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English (if not already held), obtainable during the course.
• Safeguarding training.
• First Aid certification.
