£24,000 Per Annum
Basildon
Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Trainee Customs Documentation Clerk, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and submitting customs declarations (import and export)
  • Ensuring customs clearance processes are completed accurately and on time
  • Supporting the Customs Clearing and Multimodal team with administration duties
  • Calculating Duty and VAT charges on consignments
  • Responding to internal and external customer enquiries on customs procedures
  • Keeping up to date with HMRC regulations and changes to customs documentation

Candidate Requirements:

  • Confident, organised, and keen to learn
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an office environment
  • GCSEs Grade 5 and above, including Maths and English
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • A stable employment history is essential
  • Experience in logistics, transport, or freight forwarding is a bonus
  • A driver with their own transport is preferred, but not essential
