Job description

Trainee Control System Engineer / Electrical Engineer / Controls Engineer / Design Electrician required to join a manufacturer in Newark, Nottinghamshire.

The Trainee Control System Engineer / Electrical Engineer / Controls Engineer / Design Electrician would suit a graduate in electrical engineering or an Engineer with a HNC, HND, or 18th Edition with some industrial experience, looking to develop hands-on skills in EPLAN, control panel design, PLC/HMI programming, and electrical commissioning.

Working as part of a close-knit design team, you’ll support the full lifecycle of bespoke automated systems used across the UK. You’ll gain valuable experience producing electrical drawings in EPLAN, assisting with PLC programming, and joining site visits to support commissioning and testing.

Package:

  • £35,000 - £40,000 (Depending on experience)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Pension scheme
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support PLC & HMI programming and system testing
  • Development of P&ID’s
  • Take part in on-site commissioning
  • Assist in control panel layout and wiring design
  • Use of EPLAN
  • Create electrical schematics, flow diagrams, and I/O lists
  • Liaise with various engineering departments
  • Based in Newark, Nottinghamshire

Requirements:

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualified with some industrial experience
  • Some knowledge of EPLAN, PLCs, HMIs, and VSDs
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be commutable to Newark, Nottinghamshire
