What could you get involved in?

Skills

All of our graduates get early opportunities to work directly with clients and plenty of training to develop their technical, communication and problem-solving skills. Some of the tasks you can get involved in as a Trainee Consultant working across our Actuarial and Employer Consulting teams include:

  • A variety of actuarial services to defined benefit pension schemes, such as:
  • actuarial calculations
  • processing and validating data for actuarial valuations
  • working with consultants to assess the objectives and requirements of clients
  • preparing draft client reports and advice
  • attending client meetings and taking an active role in presentations
  • Supporting our corporate team on a wide range of areas.
  • Opportunities to be involved in building up our capabilities in other exciting areas of the firm.

Our trainee consultants develop a broad, transferable skillset which covers both technical and consulting matters. You will also have opportunities to work on a wide range of projects and to develop your softer skills.

Alongside the on-the-job training you will have full study support comprising of study leave, financial support, and a study mentor – we want you to succeed with us!

The Application Process

Thank you for your interest in our 2025 graduate position! After you submit your CV and complete the job-specific eligibility criteria questions, the early careers team will review your application. Successful candidates will receive an email with a link to the Criteria Corp testing platform. On this platform, you will be required to complete three sections designed to assess various skills and aptitudes, this also includes a one-way video interview section. (More information on the individual sections will be provided when you receive the link.

The Early Careers team will review the results and successful applicants will be invited to a short telephone call before the assessment day in the local office that you have applied for. We will start sending candidates to the Criteria Corp testing platform towards the end of August, so if you apply over the next few weeks, please bear with us.
