Due to recent contract success, a precision engineering firm in Bristol is expanding their CNC team and looking for a Semi-Skilled CNC Lathe Setter/Operator. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some experience in CNC machining looking to grow their skills in a supportive, team-led environment.

You'll be joining a company that designs and manufactures complex mechanical systems all under one roof-an environment that encourages quick learning, crosstraining, and career development.

The company works closely with their clients within the following sectors: Aerospace, Automotive, Food & Beverage, Medical/Healthcare, General Manufacturing.

The Role:

  • Set and operate CNC lathes for small batch, high-precision production
  • Manufacture components across a broad product range including screw jacks, heavy-duty linear actuators, gearboxes, custom electromechanical lifting systems, and suspension components
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and perform quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Carry out basic machine maintenance and support adjacent production teams

The Candidate:

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience operating CNC lathes
  • Able to read drawings and use inspection tools accurately
  • Eager to learn, detail-oriented, and a strong team player
  • Bonus: CNC milling experience, NVQ/City & Guilds

The Benefits:

  • £30,000-£35,000 base salary with potential OTE up to £50,000
  • Overtime available daily at enhanced rates (1.5x)
  • Annual profit-share bonus (1-4 weeks' pay depending on company performance)
