An excitingopportunity has arisen to join our team at STSFT as a trainee in the field of CardiacScience.

This full-time,fixed term position will offer training in Cardiac Science with sub specialityinterest in either cardiac rhythm management or cardiac imaging(echocardiography) within our busy department at South Tyneside and SunderlandNHS foundation trust over a period of 3 years.

Healthcare science is one of the most excitingand dynamic areas to work in. Join a unique team within Cardiology who areinspired to apply their exceptional scientific knowledge and skills to theprevention diagnosis and treatment of disease and long term care as a traineeclinical scientist.

Excellenttraining opportunities are offered within the Scientist Training Programme(STP) at STSFT which is a national postgraduate training programme located inhospitals and health services throughout England.

This is a 3year postgraduate programme and successful candidates will be employed by SouthTyneside and Sunderland NHS foundation trust for the duration of your training.

Trainees arealso enrolled for a fully funded part-time vocational masters degree inclinical science.

Main duties of the job

To be eligiblefor the STP, all applicants must meet the following requirements:

A 1st or 2:1in Cardiac Physiology (PTP) or a relevant scientific subject (examples includePhysiology Pure or Applied Physics, Biology or Human Biology, or SportsScience (if significant scientific content) or equivalent experience andappropriate underpinning knowledge and skills in cardiology as evidenced forinstance by relevant voluntary registration (AHCS/RCCP).
