Job Description:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in CAD design, as you will receive full on-the-job training along with access to accredited courses that will help you develop proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.

We are seeking a motivated Trainee CAD Technician to join our Drawings and Operations Team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in producing, managing, and updating electrical schematics and as-fitted drawings. Your contributions will directly support our operational goals and help maintain the high standards of service our clients expect.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drawings Production: Produce and update electrical schematic and as-fitted drawings to a high standard, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company specifications.
  • Document Control: Manage and update drawings and documents according to company standards and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the field operations team, through the Drawings and Operations Managers, to improve and maintain the quality of drawings and documentation.
  • Customer Liaison: Update and modify drawings based on information supplied by customers or their representatives.
  • Team Participation: Actively participate in team meetings to ensure the correct flow of information, support for ongoing projects, and resolution of any issues or opportunities.
  • Monitor KPIs: Track and manage your KPIs to ensure drawings are produced within the required turnaround times and meet business objectives.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with computer technology and good keyboard skills. Experience with Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required; CRM software experience is a bonus.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Clear, concise communication, both written and verbal.
  • Deadline-Oriented: Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive approach to tackling challenges.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional, committed team.
  • Self-Driven: A motivated individual who is eager to learn and develop their skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • AutoCAD Knowledge: Previous experience with AutoCAD is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
  • Electrical Systems Knowledge: An understanding of electrical systems is desirable but not essential.

Additional Job Details:

  • Full-Time Position: Available immediately.
  • Hours: Contracted 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Monday to Thursday – 08:30 to 16:30

Friday – 07:30 to 15:30

  • Salary: £23,800
  • Location: Sheffield
