Job summary

First Bus in Dumbarton is seeking a Trainee Bus Driver to join our team. You’ll operate local services, assist passengers, and work across a rota that includes mornings, evenings and weekends.

No prior bus driving experience is required, with fully paid training provided to become a qualified driver. You'll start at £14.14 per hour, progressing to £16.03 after qualification, with guaranteed hours and clear career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible approach to shift work.

Responsibilities

• Operate local bus services across Dumbarton and surrounding areas to help passengers travel to work, education and leisure.
• Provide a safe, reliable and friendly journey experience with professional conduct.
• Follow rota-based schedules and work across mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Engage with passengers and assist with information as needed.
