Job summary

First Bus in Dumbarton is seeking a Trainee Bus Driver to join our team. You’ll operate local services, assist passengers, and work across a rota that includes mornings, evenings and weekends.

No prior bus driving experience is required, with fully paid training provided to become a qualified driver. You'll start at £14.14 per hour, progressing to £16.03 after qualification, with guaranteed hours and clear career progression opportunities.

Trainee Bus Driver – Dumbarton

£14.14 per hour Join our team as a Bus Driver in Dumbarton. No previous bus driving experience is required. What's in it for you?

You'll start on an hourly rate of £14.14 per hour per hour, raising to up to £16.03 per hour once qualified after 12 months. This is a full time permanent role with guaranteed contracted hours and structured rotas planned in advance, giving you more stability and predictability around your working week. You'll work a variety of shifts across mornings, evenings, and weekends, with weekday time off built into the rota and opportunities for overtime to increase earnings where available.

The Role

You'll operate local bus services across Dumbarton and surrounding areas, helping passengers travel to work, education, appointments, shopping, and days out across the city. This is a customer-facing role where safety, professionalism, and reliability are key. You'll play an important role in keeping Dumbarton connected while delivering a safe and comfortable journey experience for passengers.

Shifts are rota-based over 5 days and include early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with schedules provided in advance.
