Job summary

First Bus in Swansea is seeking a Trainee Bus Driver to operate local services and support communities across South Wales. You will be customer-facing, learn through full training, and work a variety of shifts with guaranteed hours.

You start at £14.32 per hour and rise to £14.70 after 12 months when qualified. This is a full-time, permanent role with stable rosters and opportunities for overtime where available.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence held for at least 6 months.
• Maximum of 6 penalty points.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Flexible approach to shift work.
• No PCV licence is required, full training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Operate local bus services across Swansea and the surrounding areas.

Trainee Bus Driver – Swansea

£14.32 per hour.

What’s in it for you?

You’ll start on £14.32 per hour, increasing to £14.7 once qualified after 12 months. This is a full-time, permanent role with guaranteed contracted hours and rotas planned in advance, giving you stability and flexibility around your working week. You’ll work a variety of morning, evening and weekend shifts, with weekday time off built into your rota, plus opportunities for overtime to increase your earnings where available.

You’ll operate local bus services across Swansea and the surrounding areas, helping people get to work, education, appointments, shopping and days out. As a customer-facing role, you’ll be at the heart of the communities you serve, with safety, professionalism and reliability at the centre of everything you do. You’ll play an important role in keeping people across South Wales connected, while providing a safe, comfortable and reliable journey every day.
