Job description

BMS Trainee Engineer!

We are working with a growing building management systems (BMS) specialist, currently the #3 Trend partner in the UK. As part of our expansion, we're building out a permanent in-house engineering team.

They look after a portfolio of mainly NHS properties (both static and mobile) and are expanding into the hotel sector. With strong office culture, monthly engineer meetings, and full-team involvement from day one, this is a great opportunity to be part of a company where everyone knows your name.

The Opportunity

They're looking for a trainee BMS Engineer to join the team. Whether you're a seasoned engineer or someone looking to break into BMS from an M&E, support, or military background, we'll build a tailored training plan to set you up for success.

You'll work on a range of sites using Trend and Tridium systems, and we'll cover all certifications and provide full on-the-job training. For trainees, this is a real opportunity to earn while you learn — think of it like a paid internship with real career progression.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Attend sites for PPM, servicing, breakdowns, and remedial works
  • Shadow senior engineers as part of your development
  • Provide clear and detailed reports for each job
  • Be part of the on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks, once trained)
  • Engage with clients and represent the company professionally
  • Participate in engineer meetings and contribute to continuous improvement
What We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • A driven, positive attitude with genuine interest in BMS
  • M&E, electrical, support, or IT background
  • Eagerness to learn, grow, and be part of a close-knit team
  • Willingness to commit to the training plan (note: if you leave within 12 months of taking a course, you'll be required to repay the training cost)

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Any Trend or Tridium experience (monitoring, wiring, commissioning, etc.)
  • BMS servicing or support background
Training & Development

We offer one of the best hands-on training setups in the industry:

  • Dedicated training plan depending on your background
  • Shadowing with experienced engineers
  • All certifications paid for (BMS, electrical, software, etc.)
  • Monthly reviews and bi-annual engineering catchups
Benefits
  • £200/week on-call + minimum 4 hours guaranteed pay
  • 25 days holiday + your birthday off after 1 year
  • Business mileage & expense reimbursement
  • Company laptop, phone & tools provided
  • Car allowance or travel cost reimbursement
  • Company pension & health cover
  • Bonus scheme
  • Death in service cover
  • Branded workwear provided
  • Regular team socials (Christmas parties, etc.)
