Qualifications

  • Valid certifications in CITB, SSSTS, and First Aid at Work are required.

Job description

Cala Homes East Ltd are expanding their Construction Team and are recruiting for Trainee Assistant Site Managers to join their team. Under the guidance of the Management team, you will be involved in managing sub-contractors by giving them clear direction and clarifying expectations in all aspects of site delivery. You will learn about all site resources including labour, plant and materials as well as on-site health and safety and client customer service.

About You

You will participate in and create a culture where operatives recognise risks to prevent issues arising, ultimately working towards a proactive response rather than a reactive system. You will ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained through a constant checking process and be confident in taking immediate corrective action if you witness a breach of the Cala guidelines. Communication skills are paramount, to ensure that the necessary teams are kept up to date with any changes on the site. You will be expected to take ownership of issues and ensure they are dealt with promptly. You must appreciate the importance of excellent customer satisfaction and resolving customer service issues. You will be conscientious, hardworking and computer literate with strong time management skills.

Ideally have a valid:

  1. CITB
  2. SSSTS
  3. First Aid at Work (FAW)
  4. Appropriate CSCS Card
  5. SMSTS (not an internal version, has to be CITB)
  6. Basic Scaffold Theory and Inspection (or CISRS Inspector)
  7. Site Environmental Management (CITB SEATS or IEMA)
  8. Temporary Works Co-ordinator (TWC)
  9. Experience working to NHBC standards.
