Trainee/ Assistant QS

Job Title: Assistant/Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Our client is currently recruiting for an Assistant/Trainee Quantity Surveyor based in their Huntingdon office. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in residential groundwork or civil projects.

Reporting to: Project Quantity Surveyor

Main duties include:

1. Preparing weekly costs for Labour, Plant, Materials, and Sub-contractors for each project.
2. Preparing sub-contractor work packages.
3. Evaluating sub-contractor valuations and approvals for payment.
4. Preparing cost reports for smaller projects.
5. Monitoring and updating material pricing records for cost reporting.
6. Assisting the Estimator with detailed cost reports and tender pricing.
7. Collaborating with the site and factory teams to understand the modular build process.
8. Working with the procurement team to reduce project costs and increase value.

Candidate requirements:

• BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying.
• Positive attitude with problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Full UK driver's license and own transport.
• Flexible and proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently and handle challenges effectively.
