Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is recruiting a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor for an established UKAS-accredited consultancy in East Kilbride, Scotland. Full training, industry qualifications, and ongoing mentoring are provided to develop your career.

The role involves assisting surveyors, learning HSG264 standards, collecting samples, and progressing to manage your own workload across Scotland's Central Belt. A driving licence is essential, with travel required.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Willingness to travel across the Central Belt of Scotland.
  • Construction, environmental or asbestos industry exposure preferred, not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting experienced surveyors with Management and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys.
  • Learning to identify and assess asbestos-containing materials in accordance with HSG264.
  • Collecting bulk samples and recording accurate site information.
  • Producing asbestos survey reports with full training provided.
  • Travelling across the Central Belt of Scotland to a variety of sites.
  • Ensuring all work complies with HSE guidance and company procedures.

Trainee Asbestos Surveyor

Location: East Kilbride, Scotland
Salary: 25,000 - 28,000 (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent Full-time


A well-established UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy is looking to appoint a Trainee Asbestos Surveyor to join its growing team based in East Kilbride. The role involves working across the Central Belt of Scotland, carrying out asbestos surveys under the guidance of experienced surveyors before progressing to managing your own workload.

The Role


  • Assisting experienced surveyors with Management and Refurbishment & Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys

About You


  • Construction, environmental, or asbestos industry experience preferred

  • Previous asbestos experience desirable but not essential

  • Keen to develop a long-term career within the asbestos industry

  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • Willingness to travel throughout the Central Belt and occasionally stay away when required

  • Full UK driving licence (essential)

  • Professional, reliable, and eager to learn
