This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and proactive Trainee Area Sales Manager to join a successful business who are one of the biggest names in their sector. With 15 strategic trading locations and a divisional turnover of circa £120 million, they are part of a £1 billion turnover group who already employ over 2,000 people nationwide.

The business distributes a wide range of DIY, gardening and housewares products to business customers including high street retailers, garden centres, DIY stores and independent hardware stores across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Role Responsibilities

This role is an excellent opportunity to build a successful area sales career with a market-leading group. You'll take on a well-established sales territory with lots of potential for growth covering North-West London, Middlesex, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.

As a Trainee Area Sales Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Developing and building on relationships with a well-established portfolio of customers (garden centre buyers, hardware store owners, etc.)
  2. Driving sales growth by identifying opportunities to develop company performance and revenue
  3. Ensuring the achievement of set targets and objectives
  4. Presenting, communicating and selling to a well-established customer base
  5. Establishing relationships with new customers

As a Trainee Area Sales Manager, you will receive:

  1. Starting salary between £33,000 - £36,000
  2. Your share of the company's profits in the form of a lucrative uncapped bonus

Role Requirements

To be successful in this Trainee Area Sales Manager role, you should be:

  1. An experienced salesperson (ideally) with knowledge of how to manage a territory and organise daily visits
  2. Ideally, some knowledge about the DIY/ Hardware sector
  3. An excellent communicator
  4. Ambitious, driven and self-motivated
  5. Able to build relationships with people from all backgrounds and age profiles
