Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our organisation and make a real difference in the community. This is an opportunity to join an established charity known for providing high-quality advice and being a great place to work. Our Adviser / Supervisor training programme will equip you with skills, knowledge, and experience, offering a potential career progression within our service.

This role is 37 hours per week, but part-time options (minimum 22.5 hours) with full-day hours (09:00-17:00) will be considered.

The Training Programme varies depending on prior experience and progress:

  1. Year One: After 8-12 weeks of in-house training, you will become a trainee generalist adviser. Building on this, and working towards accreditation in the Generalist Adviser Certificate of Competence, you'll have the chance to experience different advice roles—generalist, debt, welfare benefits—and observe advice session supervision.
  2. Year Two: Depending on your progress, aptitude, and organisational needs, you may spend time providing advice and supervision, working as a generalist adviser or specialist on specific projects, while training to become an Advice Session Supervisor.

This position is primarily based in our Cirencester office, with expectations to attend outreach locations and our Stroud Office as needed.

If you are already certified as a competent generalist adviser, the training programme can be tailored to your existing knowledge and skills.

The ideal candidate will be resilient, friendly, approachable, non-judgmental, empathetic, and passionate about delivering excellent advice services.
