We are offering an exciting career development opportunity for Paramedics to become Trainee Advanced Practitioners in Urgent & Primary Care. This role involves high-level, independent decision-making, including patient assessment, diagnosis, management, treatment, and prescribing for complex cases. The role operates within a rotational model across primary care and Out of Hours services, including virtual consultations and professional support.
Applicants must be HCPC registered Paramedics and eligible for the PGDip Advanced Practice program. The training, which lasts approximately 30 months, includes a fully funded Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Practice with non-medical prescribing, and requires working across four domains of advanced practice, contributing to audits, research, and training.
Additional requirements include holding a full UK manual driving license and passing the FutureQuals Emergency Response Driver Training. Support from your current line manager is necessary, and applicants should demonstrate how they meet the role's criteria.
Salary during training is based on AfC Annex 21, starting at 70% of Band 7, progressing to 75%, and then to the bottom of Band 7 upon qualification. The roles are rostered with relief weeks, and training involves assessment days, fitness tests, and drop-in sessions for questions. Interviews are scheduled for June 2025.
