Trainee Accounts Assistant

Who are the department and what is the role?

This vacancy is for a Trainee Accounts Assistant in the Pensions Administration Department's accounting team. The role involves providing accounting services to clients and internal teams. The successful candidate will be based in Winchester but may occasionally work in our London office.

What will you be doing?

The main responsibilities include:

  • Preparing Pension Scheme Reports & Accounts within deadlines for a portfolio of clients, including reconciliation of investments and AVC accounts, and preparing statutory pension scheme Trustee Reports and Accounts with supporting documentation.
  • Managing auditors during the audit process, ensuring timely provision of information and resolution of queries.
  • Attending client and auditor meetings as required.
  • Supporting ad-hoc team projects.
  • Developing knowledge within the team to assist with various checking tasks in the future.

  • Use of initiative and common sense.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Well-organized with proficiency in Excel (intermediate level).
