Pass Associates Accountants is a professional accountancy practice providing services to a wide range of clients. We are seeking a motivated Trainee Accounting Assistant to join our team under the Department for Communities Job Start Scheme.

This role offers hands-on training and experience across bookkeeping, payroll, tax returns, company filings, and client funding support. You will also gain practical knowledge of modern accounting software, with the opportunity to complete Xero Advisor Certification during your placement.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with bookkeeping and data entry using accounting software (e.g. Xero).
  • Supporting the preparation of Self Assessments, VAT returns, and basic accounts.
  • Helping with payroll processing and statutory documents.
  • Assisting with Companies House filings.
  • Supporting clients with funding and grant applications (e.g. Invest NI, InterTradeIreland).
  • Maintaining accurate client records and organised filing systems.
  • Assisting with client communications, including emails and calls.
  • Following professional standards and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive client information.
