Job Title: Trainee Accounting Technician

Salary Scale: GRADE 4-6: £27,711 - £35,235

Contract: Permanent, 37 hours per week

Interview date: Anticipated WC 21 July or WC 28 July

Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our finance team, working on behalf of Sunderland City Council to deliver children’s services including social care, early help, and education. This role offers the chance to qualify as an Accounting Technician (AAT) while gaining experience in a busy finance environment.

Responsibilities

1. Support all aspects of finance within the organization.
2. Assist budget holders with budget preparation and management.
3. Support the completion of final accounts, government returns, and grant claims.
4. Learn on the job and through examinations, demonstrating a willingness to develop skills.

Candidate Requirements

• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
• Part-AAT qualified or starting this journey.
• Experience working in a busy team is advantageous.
