Job summary

Clearline Recruitment Ltd is assisting with a Trainee Accountant position based in Bexhill. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or A Level leaver who will support Managers and Partners while studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA qualifications.

Salary is £24,700 per year with professional study support and exposure to accounts, tax and bookkeeping across a varied client portfolio. A strong focus on integrity and client relationships is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree or higher for ACA/ACCA training pathway.
• A Levels at A*, A or B, or equivalent for AAT pathway.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisation with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong logical problem-solving skills.
• Good team-working skills.
• Confident using IT and digital systems.
• Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support Managers and Partners with the preparation of statutory financial statements.
• Work across accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Assist with personal, partnership and corporation tax returns.
• Provide bookkeeping support and accurately record financial transactions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
• Complete control account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Carry out bank reconciliations.
• Draft professional client correspondence, including emails and covering letters.
• Support submissions to HMRC and Companies House.
• Assist with filing statutory and client account documentation.
• Maintain confidential client communications across internal systems.
• Use systems including IRIS and Outlook.
• Accurately record time spent on client activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and data security.
