Job summary

TC Group in Leeds is offering a Trainee Accountant position within our Audit or Accounts teams, starting September 2027. This apprenticeship role will have you working towards AAT Level 3 and 4, gaining hands-on experience with a respected UK firm.

After completing your AAT, you’ll continue to develop your career with TC Group, with opportunities to progress toward ICAEW ACA qualification and take on increasing responsibilities in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE maths and English at grade 4 or above.
• A levels (C or above) or equivalent.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with a drive to succeed.
• Organised and efficient with good communication.
• Valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Start your accounting career through apprenticeship and study AAT levels.
• Learn preparation of financial accounts and interpretation of financial data.
• Support audit, tax and accounting teams with growing responsibilities.
• Contribute to office operations and management support.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Accountant to join our Audit or Accounts team in our Leedsoffice, in September 2027!

A fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to start your career in accountancy, joining an apprenticeship scheme, you will be working towards an internationally recognised accountancy qualification (AAT Level 3 and 4) and gaining valuable on-the-job experience with a highly respected accountancy firm.

After you achieve your AAT qualifications you will continue to build your career with TC Group and take on greater levels of responsibility. Individuals who show strong aptitude for audit, tax and accounting along with the highest level of academic ability will have the opportunity to work towards an ICAEW ACA Chartered Accountant qualification.

You will join a dynamic accounts team with a high-quality client base, rapidly gaining responsibility by also helping the management team with the office running whilst at the same time completing your accounting qualification with us.

You will learn about the preparation of financial accounts, interpretation of financial data and accounting and tax legislation. Equally as importantly you will learn how to work effectively in a team, how to build strong and lasting professional relationships and also how to deliver exceptional client service. This is a diverse role and you need to be prepared to roll your sleeves up and have a willingness to learn.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• strong GCSE results in both Maths and English, grade 4 or above
• A levels (C and above) or equivalent
• excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
• strong attention to detail
• self-motivated and willing to succeed
• highly personable with excellent communication skills
• organised, efficient with attention to detail
• able to demonstrate drive and initiative
• you need to have access to a car and hold a current UK driving license (or be working towards this).
• you need to have a current right to work in the UK
