Lusona Consultancy (group) Limited is supporting a Lanarkshire-based FMCG food production organisation to recruit a Trainee Accountant. This hands-on role offers excellent exposure to financial and cost accounting within a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day‑to‑day financial transactions and accounting records.
• Process purchase invoices, supplier payments and customer receipts.
• Support bank reconciliations and cash management.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Help prepare management accounts and financial reports.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with cost analysis including materials, labour and overheads.
• Support inventory management, stock reconciliations and stock counts.
• Reconcile supplier and customer accounts.
• Assist with VAT, audit support and compliance processes.
• Work collaboratively with production, procurement and sales teams.
