About the role

Benefact Group is looking for a Trainee Accountant to join our Gloucester office.

As a Trainee Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting for the group and its businesses, while gaining accountancy qualifications with full study support.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting monthly management accounting, analysis processes, and internal reporting packs
  • Supporting annual statutory reporting and statutory audit process
  • Assisting with quarterly regulatory returns, including Solvency II and other industry reports
  • Participating in research and implementation of changes to accounting standards and business processes
  • Performing monthly cash and investment reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly performance reports, financial analysis, commentary, and dashboards
  • Supporting the preparation of annual corporation tax returns and tax analysis
  • Providing support to the wider Business Accounting team
  • Engaging in ad hoc project work and supporting other areas of the business
  • Developing your career through experience and training, including professional accounting qualifications
Knowledge, skills, and experience
  • A Levels or equivalent in a numerate subject or a discipline demonstrating analytical skills
  • A proven track record of success and achievement in education, work experience, or extracurricular activities, demonstrating responsibility, independence, and teamwork
  • Strong numerical ability
  • Analytical skills and critical reasoning
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn and apply knowledge in the workplace
  • Good planning and prioritization skills to manage multiple deliverables
  • Strong relationship-building skills and leadership potential
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Excel
