Trainee Accountant

Location: Llandeilo

Hours: 35 hour week with occasional happy early Friday finishes

Type: Permanent

Salary: Dependant on experience

Looking to advance your career as a Trainee Accountant? Our client, a modern and welcoming firm of accountants and tax advisors, has been a trusted part of the Llandeilo community for over 50 years and is eager to welcome a new talent like you.

In this role, you'll:

  • Prepare accounts up to trial balance and assist with basic tax return preparation.
  • Provide support to our payroll department as needed.
  • Process VAT returns using our specialized in-house digital software.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word proficiently.
  • Operate in-house digital tools, including Dext and Intuit QuickBooks (full training provided).
  • Develop strong client relationships, ultimately managing your own client portfolio and HMRC liaison.
What we need from you:
  • A recent degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A strong desire to pursue a career in accounting and tax, with a commitment to professional development (e.g., AAT, ACCA).
  • A team-oriented mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A professional and approachable demeanor when interacting with colleagues and, eventually, clients.
