Job summary

DJH is seeking a Trainee Accountant Apprentice in Stoke-on-Trent for August 2027 start. You’ll begin with a comprehensive induction and a personal development plan to guide your path to becoming a fully-fledged accountant.

Expect a fast-paced, supportive environment with emphasis on learning and development. You’ll work with a talented team, gain experience across year-end statements, tax calculations, and client relationships while progressing through the AAT studies and enjoying a flexible

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs minimum level 5 and above, with level 6+ in Maths and English.
• On track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C or above.
• Love getting to know people and cultivating long-lasting relationships.
• Motivated to deliver extraordinary service and embrace our 'Proven Process'.
• Proactive attitude in a fast-paced and bustling environment.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a talented team, adding value to the work we deliver.
• Prepare year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients.

• Pursue personal development through shadowing, questions, and learning for AAT studies.

After a proper induction to the business, a personal development plan will be drawn up for you. It will outline each of the steps you'll need to take to realise your ambitions and goals of becoming a fully-fledged Accountant. Your typical day as a Trainee Accountant will involve:

• Being part of a talented team, adding value to the exceptional work we deliver


• Preparing year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients


• Calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities, whilst coming up with tax planning ideas


• Cracking on with your personal development plan - shadowing, questioning, and learning to help you achieve your ambitions and be victorious in your AAT studies


• Building long-lasting relationships with clients and wowing them daily
