Job summary

DJH is hiring a Trainee Accountant as an Apprentice in the Early Careers team. You’ll undertake a structured induction and a personal development plan to progress toward AAT qualifications while gaining hands-on experience in preparing year-end statements and tax calculations.

Expect a fast-paced, supportive environment with fully funded study support, flexible hybrid working, and a strong focus on learning and development to help you reach your potential within DJH.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above, with Maths and English grade 6+.
• On-track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing year-end financial statements for diverse clients.
• Assist with calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities and planning ideas.
• Follow a personal development plan to progress via AAT studies.
• Build and maintain long-lasting client relationships and deliver value.

After a proper induction to the business, a personal development plan will be drawn up for you. It will outline each of the steps you’ll need to take to realise your ambitions and goals of becoming a fully‑fledged Accountant. Life will be fast paced, engaging, creative, rewarding and you’ll learn loads every day.

Your typical day as a Trainee Accountant will involve:

• Being part of a talented team, adding value to the exceptional work we deliver
• Preparing year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients
• Calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities, whilst coming up with tax planning ideas
• Cracking on with your personal development plan – shadowing, questioning, and learning to help you achieve your ambitions and be victorious in your AAT studies
• Building long‑lasting relationships with clients and wowing them daily
