Job summary

DJH in Chester (Ellesmere Port) is offering a Trainee Accountant apprenticeship in the Early Careers program. After a thorough induction, a personal development plan will be created to map the steps toward becoming a qualified accountant.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, work within a talented team, and balance study with work through fully funded training and AAT study support. The role offers flexible hybrid working and a clear path to professional attainment with ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above with Maths and English at grade 6 or above.
• On track to achieve 3 A Levels (or equivalent) Grade C or above.
• Interest in accounting and willingness to study towards AAT.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a talented team and contribute to client work.
• Assist in preparing year-end financial statements for diverse clients.
• Assist in calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities and planning ideas.
• Follow a personal development plan and shadow senior staff to learn AAT studies.
• Build relationships with clients and support day-to-day client service.

After a proper induction to the business, a personal development plan will be drawn up for you. It will outline each of the steps you'll need to take to realise your ambitions and goals of becoming a fully-fledged Accountant. Life will be fast paced, engaging, creative, rewarding and you'll learn loads every day.

Your typical day as a Trainee Accountant will involve:

• Being part of a talented team, adding value to the exceptional work we deliver
• Preparing year-end financial statements for a wide range of clients
• Calculating corporation and personal tax liabilities, whilst coming up with tax planning ideas
• Cracking on with your personal development plan - shadowing, questioning, and learning to help you achieve your ambitions and be victorious in your AAT studies
• Building long-lasting relationships with clients and wowing them daily
