Job title: Trainee Accountant

Reporting to: Financial Accountant

Hours: Full time Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm (37.5 hours per week)

Location: Colchester – Hybrid Flexible working

Purpose of the role:

Affinia is currently seeking a dynamic individual to come and join the firm as a Trainee Accountant in our Colchester office. This is an exciting opportunity which offers the chance to make a real impact on the firm and will see you working alongside all accounting relating activities for the Group, working with the Group Head of Finance, Finance Manager and Financial Accountant to support their requirements in relation to Internal Finance.

Accountabilities:

As a Trainee Accountant you will need to assist with:

  • Posting month end journals
  • Completing month end reconciliations
  • Updating various Excel workbooks and reconciliations
  • Investigating differences and providing support documentation for balance sheet items throughout multiple group companies
  • Audit query support
  • Cost centre analysis.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Entry level Accountancy qualification from A’ level to AAT or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Packages to a high standard – Word and Excel.
  • Highly organised with a good eye for detail.
  • Ambitious
