Role Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Accountant under our apprenticeship program to join our growing team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to start or advance their career in accountancy and gain practical experience while working towards a professional qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for clients using Xero and other accounting software.
Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
Prepare VAT returns and management accounts as required.
Support in the preparation and submission of personal and corporation tax returns.
Liaise effectively with other team members to ensure client work is completed accurately and on time.
Communicate with clients when required to request information and resolve queries.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and ensure compliance with firm policies and relevant regulations.
Assist with any other ad hoc accounting, tax, or administrative tasks as directed by senior staff.
Requirements:
A strong interest in pursuing a career in accountancy (AAT-ACA/ACA trainee or intending to start).
Good understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Familiarity with Xero or other cloud accounting software (training will be provided).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
