First Rail London (FRL) invites applications for a Train Cleaner to join the fleet train care team at Silwood / NXG Depot. You will carry out train cleaning duties on T&RS to a defined specification, working safely and efficiently while helping to improve service quality.

You will follow local procedures, join a team, report defects, and support continuous improvement of cleaning standards. The role includes on‑board, turnaround and night cleaning tasks in depot or out based locations, with

Aufgaben

• Keep place of work and facilities clean and orderly using housekeeping standards at Traincare locations.
• Report defects found on rolling stock to Train Care Supervisor or Fleet maintenance team leader.
• Be familiar with local depot procedures and methods.
• Assist in developing cleaning standards, materials and practices in line with safety rules.
• Provide cover for Level 3 Traincare posts as required.
• Undertake on board cleaning, turnaround cleaning in a customer facing environment and night cleaning at depot or out based location.
• Reference to train care conditions of service for non-exhaustive responsibilities.

About the job

As part of the fleet train care team, carry out train cleaning duties on T&RS, to a laid down specification in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner whilst constantly seeking to improve service quality.

Work to all T&RS engineering, occupational health & safety, loss control and quality standards, schedules and practises.

Meeting rising quality, safety and efficiency targets.

Adopting a systematic approach to all activities within the guidelines of relevant procedures, templates and company policies

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Responsible for ensuring that your place of work and facilities are kept clean and in good order. With other team members maintain good housekeeping systems of work areas at all Traincare locations.
• Report any defects found on rolling stock whilst undertaking cleaning duties to your Train Care Supervisor or Fleet maintenance team leader.
• Be conversant with all local procedures and methods used within local depot and or out based location to which attached.
• Assist in ensuring continuous development of train cleaning standards, materials, practices and principles in line with statutory and safety standards.
• Provide cover as designated on a volunteer basis for Level 3 Traincare posts as required.
• Undertake on board cleaning tasks, turnaround cleaning within a customer facing environment and undertake night cleaning duties of the fleet at a depot or out based location.

As a minimum, you will need to have:

• Experience in working within a team.
• Basic written & verbalcommunication skills
• Practical experience in cleaning techniques and procedures
• Safety conscious within the work place

Desirable

• COSHH / HASAW basic certification
• Experience in an environment for cleaning of vehicles.
• Environmental awareness training.
• Security awareness (how to deal with suspect packages).
• Basic IT skills
• Knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements including COSHH (Control of substances hazardous to health)
