Job summary

Alstom is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to define the mechanical architecture for future trains in the UK and abroad. You will be an expert in interface management applied to concept design and system integration across whole train, vehicle, installation and detail levels.

You will generate space allocations, ensure vehicle requirements are realized, and manage tolerance stacks and digital mock-ups while collaborating with design, systems, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable transport

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Excellent interface management skills.
• Strong background in mechanical engineering and transport design.
• Experience coordinating across design, system engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Define space allocation for train level systems to manage interfaces.
• Derive vehicle level requirements into physical form in the Digital Mock-Up.
• Manage tolerance stack-ups at vehicle and installation levels.
• Oversee digital mock-up management and KPI tracking.
• Coordinate cross-functional design workshops and knowledge transfer.
