Role Overview

The role involves all aspects of train cleaner duties, including exterior and interior cleaning, hoovering floors, inspecting and maintaining toilets, etc.

Working Hours

35 hours per week, Sunday to Saturday roster, from 21:00 to 04:00.

Location and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the Southern train fleet serving Surrey & Sussex. The role is primarily interior cleaning, with occasional exterior work. Typically, one cleaner per 3-4 carriages, working in teams of up to four.

Physical Requirements

The depot is large; physical fitness is required to move around comfortably.

Contract Details and Benefits

• £15.19/hour, increasing to £16.27 after 12 weeks due to AWR.
• Overtime rates vary: £18.22/hour after 36 hours, £19.74 for rest days, £22.02 on Sundays, and £30.37 on bank holidays.
• Potential for permanent employment after 6 months, with opportunities for career progression into train presentation, engineering, customer service, and more.
• Additional benefits include free travel on the network and discounts on other transport and retail services.
