Job summary

Owens Group is seeking a motivated Trailer Body Repairer for its Llangennech operation. The position involves non-mechanical repairs to trailers, focusing on maintaining performance and minimizing delays. Candidates should have relevant experience and ideally hold a City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 qualification in heavy vehicle mechanics, alongside a clean driving license.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 (advantageous but not essential).
  • A clean driving licence is essential.
  • HGV category C+E entitlement is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out non-mechanical repairs and restore trailers to performance.
  • Replacement of non-mechanical parts.
  • Working at height using ladders and mobile platforms.

Skills

Ability to repair non-mechanical faults
Team player with a flexible 'Can Do' attitude

Owens Group is a fast developing, multi-site organization, with a large diverse customer base, making this an exciting opportunity.

Owens are looking to recruit an enthusiastic & conscientious Trailer Body Repairer to support our Llangennech operation working a Monday- Friday day shift pattern 08.00 to 17.00 (half an hour lunch break deducted).

Specific Key Accountabilities

  • Carrying out non-mechanical repairs and damage to restore trailers to required performance in order to minimise/or avoid unnecessary delays eg. repairing side curtains, straps, buckles, cleaning, jet washing etc.
  • Replacement of non-mechanical parts
  • Working at height -using ladders, mobile platform to carry out side and roof of trailers
  • Carry out all other duties as directed by the Company

Specific Qualifications/ Job Training

  • Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle mechanics, maintenance and repair or equivalent advantageous but not essential.
  • A clean driving licence is essential
  • HGV category C+E entitlement (advantageous but not essential)
  • Training in IOSH working safely - advantageous but not essential

Specific Experience

  • Working in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Relevant transferable skills from other roles
