Full time opportunity available for aPallet Network Delivery Plannerat our Fair Oak Depot

We are a forward thinking haulage business looking for an experienced Traffic Planner.

We have depots in both Fair Oak and Southampton so please call us for further information as this is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well established haulage company. Meachers is one of the leading independent logistics providers of international freight and transport services in the UK.

Your application is important to us and if selected will arrange for you to meet the Transport Manager at the Fair Oak depot.

Below is a list of key responsibilities and requirements for the role:

  • Plan and optimise routes for inbound and outbound pallet deliveries/collections via the Palletways network.
  • Utilise route planning software and Palletways systems to ensure efficient load planning and compliance with time windows.
  • Liaise with Drivers, Transport Managers, and Warehouse staff to ensure operational plans are executed effectively.
  • Manage and adjust routes in real time to accommodate disruptions, delays, or urgent consignments.
  • Communicate effectively with Palletways central hub and member depots to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Monitor and report on service performance, fuel efficiency, vehicle utilisation, and other KPIs.
  • Ensure legal compliance with driver hours, vehicle weight limits and all relevant regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the transport planning process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Route Planner within a Pallet network (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of transport planning tools and Palletways systems
  • Understanding of UK geography, road networks, and transport compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Flexible, proactive, and team-oriented attitude.
  • IT literate (MS Excel, email, route planning software).
