Job Description

Full Time Position - Traffic Operator

Our client is a market-leading provider of integrated road and rail freight logistics, offering services such as container transport and storage, domestic distribution, warehousing, freight management, and truck sales.

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join their Southampton depot as a Traffic Operator. The role is Monday to Friday, with one in four Saturdays worked.

Responsibilities

• Managing communication with multiple drivers
• Coordinating with ports
• Booking delivery slots for port entry
• Using the TOPS transport system to schedule drivers' start and finish times
• Following up with drivers on ETAs and ensuring timeliness
• Rerouting jobs as necessary
• Verifying that all PODs match the correct jobs in the system
• Informing customers of potential delays and advising ETAs

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Traffic Operator (essential)
• Confident and clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent knowledge of UK geography
• Ability to work independently
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Organized and adaptable
• Flexibility to meet business demands

Remuneration & Benefits

• Working hours: Monday - Friday (6am - 4pm or 9am - 7pm)
• One in four Saturdays required
• Starting salary: £34,000 - £40,000 (experience with TOPS required for top of band)
