Job summary

The Erith Group is seeking a Traffic Marshal to join our on-site construction team in the United Kingdom. You will manage vehicle and pedestrian movements, direct delivery trucks, and help maintain safe access routes in a busy site environment.

With a 45-hour week and a strong emphasis on health and safety, you will work alongside site Supervisors, Plant Operators, and engineers to keep projects on schedule while upholding high standards of safety and professionalism.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card or equivalent safety card required.
• Experience as a traffic marshal or banksman on a construction site preferred.
• Strong communication and observation skills essential for directing vehicles and people.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices on busy sites.
• Eligible to work in the UK by law.

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicles entering and leaving the site safely.
• Guide plant and delivery vehicles around work areas.
• Maintain safe pedestrian routes and exclusion zones.
• Monitor site access and control entry points.
• Communicate clearly with drivers, operatives, and visitors.
• Follow all site traffic management plans and procedures.
• Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe behaviour to the Manager or Supervisor.

About the role

You will work as part of a construction team to support the safe and efficient delivery of construction projects by managing vehicle and pedestrian movements on site. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a busy environment, communicating with people, and contributing to a well-organised, productive, and safe site environment.

Working alongside Site Supervisors, Plant Operators, Groundworkers, Engineers, and other construction professionals, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will be involved in a variety of activities including directing site traffic, guiding delivery vehicles and plant machinery, maintaining safe pedestrian routes, monitoring access points, and supporting daily site operations, helping to keep projects running smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

This role requires a 45 hour working week, which is above the legal limit for workers under 18. Candidates must therefore be 18 or over.
