Traffic Management Operative - Walsall, West Midlands, United Kingdom (On-site)

Reporting to the Traffic Management Supervisor, the Traffic Management Operative will be responsible for deploying Traffic Signals on planned and reactive Traffic Projects. Additionally, this role will assist in executing Permanent Traffic Signal Works, ensuring all operations are conducted efficiently and safely.

This role is vital in ensuring the safe and effective management of traffic systems, contributing to the smooth flow of vehicles and pedestrians in urban environments in Walsall and surrounding areas.

What you’ll do:

• Carry out safety checks of equipment
• Perform battery swap outs
• Deploy traffic management on planned and reactive works
• Assist Installation and Engineering teams onsite
• Ensure compliance with site specifications, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
• Prepare equipment for works
• Adhere to Health and Safety Procedures to identify and minimize hazards

Who you are:

You should have previous experience in a Traffic Management role and hold the necessary qualifications for onsite work. A positive, proactive attitude, flexibility to travel within the region, and willingness to work occasional night shifts are essential.

Key Requirements:

• Valid and clean driving license
• NHSS 12D M1, 2 & 5 qualifications
• Experience working on highways or urban roads
• Good communication skills
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Ability to handle pressure positively
