Job summary

UDP in Lockerbie is seeking a Traffic Management Operative to join Scotland's leading TM provider. You will set up traffic management, direct road users safely, and work with a team to ensure smooth operations on highways and events.

The role offers flexible shift patterns (days/nights) with guaranteed hours, a focus on safety, and opportunities for training and career progression. A full UK driving licence with ≤6 points is required, and candidates should be within 40 minutes of the depot.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Eligibility to work in the UK and flexible shift pattern.
• Lantra qualifications are desirable but not essential.
• Willingness to work day and night shifts as required.

We offer three flexible shift patterns designed to support a healthy balance between your work commitments and personal life. These can be a combination of days and nights.

• 12 days on 2 days off (work 12 days, weekend off and continue)
• 6 days on 1 day off
• Part-time over 4 days, shift patterns of Sat-Tue or Thurs-Sun

We also have vacancies for high-speed operatives, which involve night shifts. These roles require a 12AB Lantra qualification.

• Within 40 minutes driving distance from depot
• Valid traffic management qualifications (e.g. Lantra 12AB, 12D M1/M2, or Unit 2) desirable but not essential
