We have an exciting opportunity for a Traffic Management Officer where we are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual with a practical knowledge to assist with the day-to-day service delivery of traffic related activities within the Highways Service to actively reduce congestion, minimising disruptions over the network.
You’ll be part of a small team supporting the Senior Engineer – Traffic Operations Manager delivering sustainable solutions for major and complex traffic management projects, developing long and short-term strategies and providing advice and support for various events and emergencies to ensure they do not impact on efficient and reliable journey times for users of the highway network.
You’ll need to be able to work independently to deliver work programmes, which includes the writing of both temporary and permanent Traffic Regulation Orders, ensuring they are effectively managed and delivered, as well as appraising projects and monitoring the performance of schemes to ensure services are provided at the highest level.
The role will be key to ensuring traffic management requests supported by plans are accurately reviewed, approved, and processed for compliance.
