Job summary

Kier Group plc. in Towcester is seeking a Traffic Management Operative to support our highways maintenance team. You will perform risk assessments, implement traffic management plans for minor works, and assist with site housekeeping while keeping safety at the forefront for road users and colleagues.

LANTRA qualifications and SHE training are preferred, and you will work closely with the team to ensure high-quality maintenance projects across the region.

Qualifications

• LANTRA Traffic Management T1/M1 and T2/M2 qualifications are required.
• Experience in highway maintenance or a similar field is advantageous.
• Commitment to working safely and protecting colleagues and the public.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out traffic management risk assessments to ensure site safety.
• Review and implement traffic management arrangements for minor works.
• Support maintenance activities including hand sweeping, cleaning, and litter picking.
• Load, unload, and handle materials and equipment safely.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to deliver high-quality projects.
• Adhere to SHE matrix training and safety procedures.

Job description

We're looking for a Traffic Management Operative to join our team based in Towcester. This is an excellent opportunity to join our highways maintenance team, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety of work sites across the region., As a Traffic Management Operative, you'll be working alongside dedicated maintenance gangs, you'll provide essential traffic management support for carriageway, footway, and drainage projects. This hands-on role offers the chance to develop your skills whilst contributing to the improvement of local road networks.

Your day to day will include:

• Completing traffic management risk assessments to ensure site safety
• Reviewing and implementing traffic management arrangements for minor works
• Supporting maintenance activities including hand sweeping, cleaning, and litter picking
• Loading, unloading, and handling materials and equipment safely
• Working collaboratively with your team to deliver high-quality maintenance projects
• Holds LANTRA Traffic Management qualifications at T1/M1 and T2/M2 levels
• Brings hands-on experience from highway maintenance or a similar field
• Has completed relevant SHE matrix training for the role
• Is committed to working safely and looks out for colleagues and the public
• Thrives in a team environment and enjoys contributing to shared success
