Development Management Implementation (DMI) Engineer / Transport Planner (Consultant Grade)

Are you a dynamic, creative and delivery focused highways engineering or transport planning professional. Can you use your developed technical skills to assist Tetra Tech in a new and exciting relationship with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC)? If so, we would like to hear from you.

HCC has recently awarded Tetra Tech in partnership with co-consultant partners Jacobs and Tony Gee and Partners, their Professional Services Contract (PSC) for the delivery of Highways and Transport Professional Services. The PSC is a long-term contract and involves a close working partnership within the Council’s overall Highways ‘One Service’. Within the PSC, Tetra Tech is responsible for the Development Management Implementation (DMI) Service function and to provide support to other service areas within the One Service. The DMI Team currently responsible for the service delivery is circa 20 staff members.

Tetra Tech is seeking a Highway Engineer / Transport Planner to provided technical support within the DMI Team. This is a challenging and exciting role which requires the person to build on their current experience and develop their knowledge and capabilities through mentoring from team leader and other senior colleagues.

The successful candidate will have the ability if desired to follow a hybrid office / working from home approach in the role

Requirements:

For this key role we are looking for the candidate to have the following:

  • Some experience gained in a highway design related field, with experience of supporting the development of schemes for either the public sector or developers.
  • A level of demonstrable proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and / or AutoCAD.
  • Beneficial to have some experience in the preparation and / or review of Transport Assessments and other transport and highways related documents prepared in support of planning applications.
  • Beneficial to have some experience of provided pre-application advice to developers on Transport and Highways matters.
  • Be an enthusiastic and diligent individual who likes a challenge and is willing to learn. You should have good communication skills, a collaborative approach and a proven ability to deliver work on time.
  • You should be a qualified professional with HNC/HND/Degree or Masters in a relevant subject (e.g., civil engineering, transport planning)
  • Desirable to be member of Professional Body, such as ICE or CIHT.
