Development Management Implementation (DMI) Engineer / Transport Planner (Consultant Grade)

Are you a dynamic, creative, and delivery-focused highways engineering or transport planning professional? Can you leverage your technical skills to support Tetra Tech in a new partnership with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC)? If so, we would like to hear from you.

HCC has awarded Tetra Tech, in partnership with co-consultants Jacobs and Tony Gee and Partners, a Professional Services Contract (PSC) for delivering Highways and Transport services. This long-term contract involves close collaboration within the Council’s Highways ‘One Service’ framework. Tetra Tech is responsible for the Development Management Implementation (DMI) Service and supports other areas within the One Service. The DMI team currently comprises approximately 20 staff members.

Tetra Tech seeks a Highway Engineer / Transport Planner to provide technical support within the DMI team. This role offers a challenging and exciting opportunity to build on your experience and enhance your skills through mentoring from team leaders and senior colleagues.

The successful candidate may have the option to work in a hybrid model, combining office and remote working.

Requirements:
  • Experience in highway design, supporting scheme development for the public sector or developers.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD.
  • Experience in preparing or reviewing Transport Assessments and related planning documents.
  • Experience providing pre-application advice on Transport and Highways matters.
  • An enthusiastic, diligent individual with a willingness to learn, good communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a proven track record of delivering work on time.
  • Qualified professional with HNC/HND/Degree or Masters in civil engineering, transport planning, or a related field.
  • Membership in a professional body such as ICE or CIHT is desirable.
